July was a busy month. There was a lot to celebrate and I still found time to get a lot of work done.

On July 2, we celebrated the 20 year anniversary of the Dulce Refugio orphanage.  Over the past 20 years MANY kids have passed through this place and received the love and care that they deserve. The director, Marce, threw a big party and many people showed up to help celebrate. The kids have been learning dance, guitar, violin and other skills and they put on presentations for the guests. There were also lots of astro jumps for the kids. It was a great time celebrating and it is an honor to be a part of this great ministry for more than 15 years now.

Also at Dulce Refugio, we finished up the school year, where I was teaching 2 English classes. To celebrate the beginning of summer vacation, we had a party, ate hamburgers and watched a movie. While I'm at the orphanage I always look for jobs/projects to do in order to help out. Some of the things were replacing about 250 feet of clothes lines and putting in some shelves in the girls laundry room. One of the boys, Ruben, was my helper on the projects. He's a good kid and always offers to give me a hand.

I went to Queretaro, Mexico, to celebrate a quinceañera (girl's 15 year birthday party). The birthday girl, Rebecca, is the daughter of former missionaries that used to live in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The family served in the orphanage for a while and we became good friends. They asked if I would give the blessing and say a few words for her big day. It was an honor to able to share with Rebecca some of my wisdom about growing up. Also there were about 100 people at the party and I was able to give a mini sermon and share about Jesus to all of them.

Upon my return, I did a personal project that I've wanted/needed to do for a while. I built a tool box for my car that can also be stored at my house when I'm not doing construction and it looks like a nice cupboard. Since I had bedbugs last month I have been motivated to keep everything clean and organized. Now I can find the tools I need without having to look through a huge mess every time I'm doing a job.

I helped some girls that used to live in the orphanage settle into their new home. I have known these girls, Fani & Ale, since they were little girls in the orphanage. They moved into a home and needed help with lots of random things. I made closets for them and installed lots of stuff around the house. I enjoy using my skills to bless others.

And finally Elvira turned 20 years old on July 29th. We went out for sushi to celebrate and had a great time. Elvira is one of the women at the girl's home and I have had the privilege of knowing/caring for her over the past 6 years. She is an excellent student, a hard worker and is turning into a mature woman of God. I pray that God will continue to bless her and give her a bright future.
