There is a lot going on down here in Aguascalientes, Mexico. I want to keep you all informed with the highlights each month. Thank you to all who pray for and support these ministries. We are able to bless so many people and we couldn't do it without you. To God be all the glory. Gracias amigos!

October started off great but later turned out to be a rough month. Some tragic accidents have made things very difficult. Please keep all of us down here in your prayers!

I started off the month by turning one year older. I celebrated my 39th birthday on October 1st. I got to sleep in all morning, then went to the orphanage to have cake & ice cream with the kids. After that I hung out with friends and ended the night listening to a Mariachi band in the street (a good friend hired the band to serenade his wife on their wedding anniversary). The next day the celebration continued and I had cake with the women in our girls home. I'm very blessed and had a great birthday!

I started a few jobs at the church that I was in charge of building last year. I welded a 13 foot overhang and installed it over the main door of the auditorium. During the rainy season, it pours in Aguascalientes and water was entering the church. Now with this overhang it should fix the problem. All I have left to do is cover the structure with laminate and it'll be done and ready to go. But due to some unfortunate circumstances, I had to put everything on hold.

I started putting security doors on the old entrance of the church building. Now that the church has more expensive sound equipment & instruments, we need more protection. I installed the door frame and welded the outline of the doors but will have to finish everything next month when things have calmed down.

It has been an extremely rough month for fellow missionary, Chevon. Lots of time spent in hospitals. The first time, I got a text one Sunday morning. She explained that the day before, she was in an Uber and somebody T boned their car. She felt fine Saturday but when she woke up that Sunday morning, she had pain and trouble breathing. We went straight to the hospital and got X-rays. Nothing was broken and they prescribed some pills for the pain. We were told the pills had no side effects but....

Chevon had a horrible fall and ended up breaking her hip and collar bone. That was her 3rd fall since she started taking the prescribed pain medication after the Uber accident (The first 2 falls were minor incidents). After doing some research online, she found that the medication does have side effects that cause dizziness. I got the call early one morning and rushed over. The ambulance was waiting when I got there, so I let them in and we got her to the hospital. To put it nicely, it has been a very difficult process coordinating information with this hospital! But on the bright side Chevon has already had her hip replacement surgery and is on the way to recovery for that. We are still waiting for the surgery on her collar bone. They keep telling us she will be going home soon so we got her house in order and it is ready to receive her. Someone donated a hospital bed and I had to try it out and make sure everything was working...I want one for watching TV haha. Please keep her and everybody volunteering their time to help her in your prayers. It's been tough and there is still a long road to recovery ahead of us.

And to end things on a bright note, I still have gotten to take the kids out on Sundays. I have been pretty consumed for the past couple of weeks taking care of Chevon but found time on Sunday afternoons. We went to the park and went out for ice cream a couple of times. One Sunday the orphanage vans were full of donations and there was no space for the kids so I had to transport them in my car. I had 14 people in my Honda CR-V (12 kids and 2 adults). Only in Mexico! Haha
