What's going on in Aguascalientes

There is a lot going on down here in Aguascalientes, Mexico. I want to keep you all informed with the highlights each month. Thank you to all who pray for and support these ministries. We are able to bless so many people and we couldn't do it without you. To God be all the glory. Gracias amigos!

March has been a busy month with lots of little things to take care of. But there were also some big advancements in many different areas of the ministry. God is good!

The church I attend, CFC (Centro de la Famila Cristiana), had a big outreach for the community. There was live music, skits/presentations, games for kids, and a team of graffiti artists who painted a huge mural on the wall of an apartment building (yes, they had permission from the city). The theme of the mural was Romans 10:9-10: believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is LORD and you will be saved. We also gave out around 2,000 "tortas" (Mexican sandwiches) and most importantly there was a gospel message preached to many people in the community. It was a great event and we were able to bless our neighbors.

I enrolled my girls in college! We went to sign the papers to secure their admission. Ariana definitely wants to go to University Santa Fe and study gastronomy. Elvira wants to study medicine and become a doctor. Her first choice is to go to UAA (Universidad Autonoma de Aguascalientes) but the entrance exam is not until May, so we enrolled her in University Santa Fe as well, her second choice, as a backup plan. If she gets accepted to UAA then we can withdraw from Santa Fe, so either way she'll have an education and be able to have a successful future.

One of my best friends, whom I've known since middle school, came down with his wife to visit for a couple days. I showed Kris & Selena around Aguascalientes and we took a day trip to Calvillo, "un pueblo mágico" (a magical town) that is touristy and has very pretty architecture. It is always a blessing to hang out with good friends.

My girlfriend, Acsa, and I tiled my friend's shower. My friend, Hali, was a very regular volunteer when I was in charge of building the church auditorium/dining hall. He helped me out a lot and I wanted to bless him. His shower was just raw concrete so I got some tiles and installed them. Acsa helped me cut the tiles and put in the grout. His bathroom looks a lot better now.

After

We are seeing lots of advancements with Chevon. We made some new rules for her and told the nurses to be very strict. We want her up and moving so they have to be getting her out of bed every so often. And praise God, it has been working! Chevon finally got up and started walking for the first time in a while. She started with a walker but can now move around with a cane. We also want to remove the feeding tube that she has in her stomach, so we obligated her to eat her breakfast and then be served lunch and dinner through the feeding tube. She did so well that we upped it to eating two meals a day and only one meal through the feeding tube. Hopefully next month she will be eating all by herself again. The team/staff we have is doing a great job. I visit Chevon regularly and she loves to play dominos, so that is what we do part of the time that I'm there. Please keep her in your prayers. She is doing a lot better but still has a ways to go.

I've gotten more done on my music project. We have almost finished six songs...halfway there! I'm hoping to get at least 12 songs recorded in order to have a complete album. I've written all of the music and my friend/pastor, Isaac, is helping me out by playing the drums and bass. We are recording everything in Isaac's studio. He is a very talented musician/producer. This is a huge blessing for me. I hope to be able to share this project soon!
