April was full of ministry and opportunities to serve in the community. I am enjoying teaching the Word of God to the youth and praying that it will have an impact in their lives.

Our Taft Middle School outreaches have been going very well and we always have a great turnout. Usually around 80 kids show up after school for a quick Bible study. I was asked by Pastor Phillip to give the message at one of the outreaches and I spoke on wisdom. Wisdom will make us successful and we obtain it by knowing God.

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

-Proverbs 9:10

I volunteered for the Law Enforcement Prayer Breakfast along with many other people from local churches. There was a big turnout and it was cool to see how many of our officers in San Diego are believers. It was a great opportunity to bless them for all that they do. Richard Orias organized much of the event and did a great job!

The Jr High ministry is going well. I'm continuing to find interactive ways to teach the kids God's Word. I taught one sermon on letting go of things in our life that hold us back in our relationship with God. I brought in some of my weights and after the class we timed the kids doing sprints. The first time without the weights and the second time while carrying dumbbells. Obviously their times slowed down when they were carrying the extra weight. This was to show them how our walk with the Lord can be hindered if we are not willing to let go of the things God wants us to let go of.

Another sermon was on being a living sacrifice for God (Romans 12:1). At the end, on a piece of paper, the kids wrote down things they struggle with, their sins and/or things they need to improve on. Then they nailed the papers to a cross. It was to represent that they were sacrificing these things to God, just as Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross. I hope and pray that these lessons will make an impact in their lives!

My girls, Elvira & Ariana, are both doing well in school. Elvira is studying medicine and is a lil stressed out with all of the homework and exams. They have spring break this month so she plans on catching up on sleep. And Ariana is enjoying cooking. They had a day where they learned to prepare many different seafood dishes. I liked the photo that she sent me...poor octopus!

Another trip to Aguascalientes! I arrived on April 29th and plan on spending time with my girls, since they are on spring break.

La Feria de San Marcos is in town. It is a huge event in Aguascalientes every year and it lasts for about 3 1/2 weeks. There is a section with a bunch of rides and the girls wanted to go. It's always a fun time!
